Helping students understand simple machines is an important one not only when teaching physics and mathematics, but in history, society and culture as a whole.

PYP 3 students have been studying about the past River Valley Civilisations over the past 5-6 weeks. This unit helped students have a better understanding of the world. By understanding the progression, it improved their understanding of the world and the people who lived in it. Ancient civilizations provided insight into why and how history has unfolded and become as it is.

While the universe is infinitely expanding, the very resources that power the Earth are running out. They learnt that by the time they are their parents’ age, some resources will be depleted.
We also discussed what we can do today to be better stewards of Earth. Through this unit, students could understand the urgent challenge that finite resources pose to us as humans. Through the podcast, they will share their thoughts on the need to save finite resources.
